Mayor Rusty Jessup

Elected as Mayor of Riverside in 2006, again in 2008, 2012 and 2016, Mayor Jessup is a graduate of Shades Valley High School, and earned a Batchelor of Science degree in Criminology and Sociology at Jacksonville State University where he met his wife, Sandra, also a Jax State graduate and a retired elementary school teacher. He is a current member of the Pell City Rotary Club, and the Riverside Baptist Church.
He is a Board Member of the St. Clair County Healthcare Authority, and is the Chairman of the St. Clair County Mayors Association. He is active in the Alabama League of Municipalities, where he served as Chairman of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee for two years. He has earned an Advanced diploma as a Certified Municipal Official from the League of Municipalities.
He owned an Insurance Agency from which he retired after a 34 year career in the Insurance Industry.
He is an avid golfer, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ, and loves to spend weekends on his pontoon boat, exploring the Coosa River.
